A Mural In Australia Is Eulogizing Taylor Swift’s Career

Taylor Swift's public image has taken a nosedive since Kim Kardashian leaked footage of her husband Kanye West discussing his song "Famous" with Swift, which depicted the pop singer giving her approval on some sexually suggestive lyrics that referenced her, despite insisting for months that she had been blindsided by the song. Swift pushed back against the leak, and claimed she was the victim of "character assassination," but the damage was done, as the resultant social media party proved.

Now, Australian artist Lushsux has painted a mural in Melbourne commemorating Swift's takedown. The above Instagram video, posted to Lushsux's account and set to Elton John's "Candle In The Wind," is presented with a caption of "Please pay your respects at Hosier Lane today by laying flowers or lighting a candle in mourning, taken from us too soon sweet princess." Below the mural, a small note reads "No tags please, respect the dead."

Pigeons & Planes spoke to Lushsux, who said that the mural "took about as long as it took Kim and Kanye to wreck Taylor.” After pointing out that the name on the mural seems to actually say "Taylor Smith," Lushsux responded “It just came out a bit chunky, I didn’t go to art school give me a break.” Watch the video above and check out some more photos below.
