On Wes Period's "German Leather," off his upcoming self-produced debut EP Late Bloomer, he recruits Awful Record's KeithCharles Spacebar to create a smooth tune to ride out to. On the track, they rap about a girl who doesn't have much of her own funds, but drives a German whip and has "23K" followers on Instagram. Spacebar and Period aren't shaming her for that, but instead, acknowledging her because she, "calls the shots," and has found a way to make her lifestyle work for her.
Over email, Period told The FADER, "I just wanted to make a fun song to vibe to. Keith and O.txoa both came through for me. Squad thIQ."
