Earlier this week, The FADER caught up with model-turned-activist-turned-talk show host Amber Rose about her brand new VH1 venture, The Amber Rose Show. The program is Rose's attempt to take her popular, internet-based brand of "open book" candidness and feminism to mass audiences, and if the first episode is any indication, the bones of a decent talk show are all there.
Rose kicked off the show by explaining its premise, saying: "We're going to touch on what's going on in the world and, of course, because it's me, we're going to talk about sex from regular to extra kinky." She then goes on to introduce her entourage, which includes her assistant, bodyguard, and homie, before taking stock of the week's news, like Iggy Azalea's recent breakup, Chris Brown's problems in Ibiza, and Rick Ross' four-hour house arrest massage. (On social media, Rose noted that she was unable to discuss this week's police shootings because the episode was taped earlier in the week.)
Following her sex talk segment, "Ask Muva," Rose tapped rapper French Montana (who walked on to his new track "Lockjaw") as her show's first guest. The duo discussed his upcoming album, Mac & Cheese 4, Montana's NSFW turnoffs, and more.
