Listen To theMIND’s Debut Mixtape Summer Camp
The Chicago-based singer/producer recruits Noname, Donnie Trumpet, and Towkio for his first full-length project.
Chicago-based singer and producer theMIND has recently lent his talents to a who's who of Chicago artists: his voice can be heard on Joey Purp's "Cornerstone," and he contributed to multiple tracks on Chance The Rapper's Coloring Book album. But the singer, who was born Zarif Wilder, is now stepping out on his own, and his new mixtape Summer Camp is a promising full-length debut.
The tape is co-produced by Wilder and creative collective THEMpeople, and features guest spots from Noname, Donnie Trumpet, and Towkio. Summer Camp follows various threads, loosely focusing on a romantic relationship gone awry. Intimate conversations between Wilder and an unnamed woman are interspersed throughout the tape, providing insight into the sonic ups and downs on the project. Listen to theMIND's Summer Camp below.
