Listen To Rexx Life Raj’s Father Figure Album
Advice, wisdom, and slaps from the Berkeley rapper.
Last month, The FADER premiered Berkeley, California rapper Rexx Life Raj's "Moxie Java" video, a collaboration with fellow Bay Area rising star Nef The Pharaoh. The song made its way around the Bay, building up hype for Raj's Father Figure album, which the rapper shared today.
On the full-length project, Raj's writing shines bright - his polished hooks aided by silky production from Ian Mckee, Kyle Betty, and JULiA LEWiS. The album is perfect for the summer, but not because it's all easy listening. Tracks like the Tony! Toni! Tone!-sampling "Vanilla Ice" are lighthearted slappers, but "OJW3" finds Raj rapping about losing friends and inspiration gained from his own father figure.
