The Avalanches Announce New Album Wildflower

Update: Hear new song “Frankie Sinatra” featuring Danny Brown and MF Doom now.

Earlier today, Zane Lowe announced that he would be premiering a new song by The Avalanches tonight on Beats 1, the group's first new material in since their 2000 debut Since I Left You. The new song - "Frankie Sinatra" - features verses from MF Doom and Danny Brown.

The group also announced that they would soon be releasing Wildflower, a brand new album that will contain 21 songs (or "segments" according to Zane Lowe). The album will be out on July 8 and is available for preorder now. "Sorry we kept you waiting," The Avalanches wrote in a note to fans posted on Instagram. "It's been a wild ride and at times we thought we would never make it through. What kept us going was a belief in the day-to-day experience of music as a life force."

The Avalanches' first song in 16 years is taken from new album Wildflower which will be released via XL Recordings on July 8. "Frankie Sinatra" took two years to mix, according to the band. The album comprises 21 songs or “segments”, and features Camp Lo, Warren Ellis, Biz Markie, Jennifer Herrema, Toro y Moi, Father John Misty and Jonathan Donahue, among others.
