Questlove Shares 40 Reasons Prince Embodied Hip-Hop

Since Prince's death in April, Questlove has emerged as one of the most knowledgeable and eloquent of his celebrity fans. As well as writing an essay in tribute to his hero, the Roots bandleader also helped Madonna and Stevie Wonder pay tribute to the late icon at the Billboard Awards. Tributes to Prince are still coming in, including the cover of the latest issue of The Source, which hit newsstands last week, May 24.
Questlove posted the cover on Instagram and admitted that he "chuckled" at the hip-hop publication putting Prince on their cover, but then decided he agreed with their choice and listed 40 reasons why. The list covers everything from Prince's technical ability ("Limited access to music forces him to create his own world of music") to his competitive nature ("Had beef with his peers who hated on him").
