Golf Wang, the fashion line of FADER cover star Tyler the Creator, will soon get its very own runway show, the Odd Future founder revealed in an interview with Vogue and spotted by Complex.
The new collection will premiere on June 11 as part of Made LA's two days of fashion and culture exhibitions. Tyler spoke to Vogue and revealed his thoughts on world of fashion and his place in it.
I just figured, 'Why not? Why not do something different?' Not everybody in the upper fashion world is wearing all-black Saint Laurent pieces and is super pretentious. I want to show them a different world.
He also revealed how he approaches designing his clothes, which Vogue describes as “a collection of simple, easy-to-wear pieces—think tees, coach’s jackets, and shorts—printed in wild hues with tongue-in-cheek designs.”
I just make whatever clothes I want to wear for the next five months and then run that. I don’t really put deep, intricate thought into it—it’s more like a feeling.
