Nas spoke with Zane Lowe about the importance of Dilla earlier this year. "I was a fan before I knew who to attach a name to," Nas remembered. "I was like, 'that’s the next guy I’m gonna work with.' As I said that, the news came that he was not well… He could do records that was Janet Jackson level and still do Common, the neo-soul thing. He had all those things wrapped up in him."

Today Mass Appeal shared "The Sickness," which finds Nas and Dilla rapping over a Madlib beat. (The verses were recorded more than a decade apart.) The song is one of two iTunes exclusives that will accompany The Diary, the latest posthumous Dilla release. Look for that on Friday.
