Hyperactive guitar lines and sidestreet fortune teller-meets-Vegas pop diva vocals are both shot with the frantic energy of an air raid siren to give us Weaves, a band giving the sound of Toronto pop a brand new definition. Their latest single “Candy” is even more propulsive and gnarly than their previous release—if the Weaves EP was a monster truck with a heart of gold, “Candy” is a picture of that car-eating, flame spitting robot the moment its operators lose control. Weaves's self-titled debut drops June 17.
