“Beats 1 is about to finally start making sense,” Zane Lowe declared this week. “After all this reaching around in the dark, searching for meaning, Jehnny Beth has given us another step in the right direction.”
Beth debuts her own show—dubbed “Start Making Sense”—on Beats 1 tonight. Speaking with Zane Lowe from Dallas, where she’s on tour with Savages, Beth explained her approach to the programming. “It’s always been a dream of mine to have a radio show… the idea I guess is playing music that’s exciting to me, but also thinking about the idea of how much music is shaping our lives… why is music so important? Because I’m a lyricist as well, I kind of emphasize the lyrics and the meanings of the songs.”
