Earlier today, Kesha provided an update to her ongoing legal battle with Sony and her alleged rapist Dr. Luke. In the caption of an Instagram selfie, Kesha explained that she was offered "freedom" if she were to lie, "apologize publicly and say that [she] never got raped." However, Kesha is vague about who the other party is and never specifies if it was Dr. Luke's legal team or Sony who approached her with the deal.
Despite this offer, Kesha is determined to stand firm with her previous claims. "I will not take back the TRUTH," Kesha continued. "I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again." Read the entire post above.
Update, 4/4/2016, 8:45 a.m.: According to Rolling Stone, Dr. Luke’s legal team issued a statement in response to Kesha’s latest Instagram post.
“The Court repeatedly stated Kesha is already free to record without Dr. Luke, and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims,” Luke’s lawyers wrote to Rolling Stone in a statement. “That’s because all the evidence—including Kesha’s own videotaped sworn testimony—show her allegations are false. The only thing Kesha is not free to do is to continue to lie about Dr. Luke through publicity stunts and outrageous smears, ignoring the fact that by her own free will she went to work and entered into new contracts with Dr. Luke years after this ‘incident’ supposedly happened. Her goal all along has been solely personal enrichment by seeking to break contracts that brought her success and millions so she can enter into more lucrative ones. We look forward to our day in court holding Kesha accountable for her lies.”
Rolling Stone also suggested that Kesha is looking to add additional firepower to her legal team to help her efforts against Luke in court. Read the full story here.
