The CEO Of Top Dawg Schedules New Albums From Kendrick Lamar, SchoolBoy Q And New Acts In 2016
The whole roster has projects in the pipeline.
Anthony Triffith, C.E.O. of Top Dawg Entertainment has posted his entire label's release schedule for 2016 on Instagram.
ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul's records seem to be the most imminent, in their “sample clearence” and “mixing stages” respectively. SZA and Isaiah Rashad are in varying degrees of “creative,” and Jay Rock is listed as “E.R.,” probably a reference to his recent motorcycle accident. Kendrick Lamar's project is currently at “??? (Get Top On The Phone).” K-dot has been testing out unreleased material on evening shows all year, which could be included in his 2016 release. The lone 2017 release is “BH,” which might refer to Black Hippy, Q, Soul, Rock and K-dot's rap group. That project's status is “praying.”
Most intriguingly of all, there's two brand new and unnamed artists on the TDE roster, labelled as John Doe 1 and 2.
