The Kanye favorite put out a spectacular and moody collection.

John Elliott has come a long way since founding his eponymous fashion label, from copping a Kanye cosign to working with Ye himself on Yeezy Season 2. At his second NYFW show, Elliott rolled out a dark collection titled "OverTheLine" that he has said centered around the notion of "friction and the uncertainty that exists at night." Over email with The FADER, Elliott elaborates, "The best parties we’ve ever been to always encompass these themes. This collection is our darkest effort yet and is meant to be worn in that setting.

Overall, the new Fall/Winter collection from Elliott looks slightly experimental but feels incredibly familiar. Technical sportswear-inspired MA-1 bomber jackets, cropped hoodies, and his famous side zippers made their inevitable appearances. Imaginative uses of wool and leather make for a collection of garments perfect for layering—or as Elliott might put it, friction. In addition to the apparel, Elliott recruited electronic DJ duo, Woo York, to produce a track for the collection. Revolving around the same idea of clash, the track is a 11-minute phantasm of ranging sub-bass notes reflected over a collage of other inter-clashing sounds.

Nate Brown, the track's creative director, explains, "A Subliminal, motorized techno track crafted by Woo York takes us on a journey through the darkest and sweatiest alcoves of Berlin, A dividing wall, large dark weathered steel objects, Mirrors of reflection that stack and layer, strobes of white heat, and towering sweaty sub woofers deliver the tense, volcanic narrative." Take a listen to the track below.
