Listen To The Debut Single From Ling, A New Artist On Visionist’s Label

The latest addition to Visionist's CODES label is Ling, a young producer from Liverpool in the north of England. "44 Blue" is taken from his debut EP, Attachment, and it's a swirled glass marble of a track. There's playful percussion from both human and machine sources, and a happy-sad melody that rolls round the head. It's the sort of soundtrack that would make walking down any grey concrete street feel like an adventure.

"The track is the result of dozens of disparate ideas that felt linked by their specific shades of sorrow," Ling told The FADER. "For me, these numerous flattened environments competing against each other for space gives the track a real sense of urgency." CODES, an offshoot of PAN, will release Ling's Attachment EP on February 5.
