The Cash Money crooner has seen his star rise significantly in the ten months since his last release—thanks to the work he put in with Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan on Rich Gang and the buzz he built with his Stunna tribute "Like Baby"—and in an email to The FADER, Cash Money boss Birdman suggested that the tape is be a harbinger for bigger things yet to come: "I think this is a new wave of music from a very TALENTED young man."
