When Kanye released "No More Parties In LA" today, he noted in a since-deleted tweet that Madlib was involved in the production. TeamKanyeDaily scoured the Kanye archives and located an interview that appeared in the 2014 documentary Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton, which told the story of Madlib's label Stones Throw. In the film, Kanye talks about working with the producer during is now storied My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy sessions and raps a few lines very close to the ones that appear in "No Parties In LA." "I could paint the scene of how I felt sitting there with Madlib, working on these tracks, and just hearing the textures," he explains. "It was like... 'over the crib you left your Ray-Bans/ My sheets still orange from your spray tan/ No more parties in L.A./ No more parties in LA'—some shit."
Complex points out that Kanye put five Madlib beats on hold in 2010, though it's unclear if this is one of them.
