August Alsina's sophomore album, This Thing Called Life, is out today via Def Jam. To mark the occasion, the ruminative New Orleans singer has shared a visual for "Song Cry," a cut that he says is "his truth."
"It's my reality on wax," Alsina wrote in an email to The FADER. He added, "I wanted the video to be more abstract and take me to a place visually where I haven't been before."
So he took it to the desert, where, beyond all expectations, it is pouring rain. Also in the desert: ballerinas, blood tears, a fiery casket, a hint of Drake shade, and a rose petal bed. Every rose needs the rain sometimes. Indeed.
