Watch Hudson Mohawke’s Rodin-Inspired “Indian Steps” Video
“It was very touching and moving to see two aging bodies in such an intimate way.”
"Indian Steps" appears right in the middle of Hudson Mohawke's Lantern. The song is a collaboration with Antony Hegarty—who now makes music as ANOHNI—and it's one of the album's strongest vocal tracks.
When making the visual, the director Daniel Sannwald drew from Rodin's sculpture The Kiss. "For the video I recreate that sculpture with two elderly bodies," he noted in a statement. "It was very touching and moving to see two aging bodies in such an intimate way. I wanted to use them as a symbol of time but also to capture the beauty of such vulnerability. I strongly believe that every deep love has its own place and space and therefore lives on forever."
