The enigmatic rapper SAFE earned attention earlier this summer when he teamed up with the OVO-affiliated producer Eric Dingus on "Now." He returned today with a new EP, Stay Down. Dingus shows up again, providing the beat for the lusty "Back 2."
SAFE described the process behind the project in an email to FADER. "When I was writing and recording these songs I was influenced off the vibes I get from day to day," he explained. "That's why you will notice some songs are more fast paced and a lighter sound while others are more dark and at a smoother, slower pace. I also created the whole EP with the goal to show people how diverse my songs can be and to create a different vibe from every song... just know this is just the beginning of more music to come in the near future."
