M.I.A. Tackles The Refugee Crisis In New Video “Borders”

Borders, what's up with that? Politics, what's up with that? M.I.A. asks in her hard-hitting latest single "Borders," released last week. Today, she's shared a self-directed video on Apple Music that makes her message even more explicit: the rapper walks on water and deadpans her way through the song as she's surrounded by refugees making their way across the ocean on over-crowded boats. The single will appear on her forthcoming studio album Mahtahdah, and follows the short film Mahtahdah Scroll 01 Broader Than A Border.
