Following the release his genre-curving Soul Glitch EP, Daye Jack—an agile 19-year-old rapper and singer who was born in Nigeria, raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, and is now stationed in L.A.—has seen his stock begin to rise. And perhaps with it, his bank account as well.
"Piggybank," which premieres on The FADER today, finds Jack grappling with the ups, the downs, and everything in between that come with fame. "It's about wanting to get paid, wanting to be rich, and embracing the lifestyle that comes with the partying and having a good time," he explained in an email to The FADER. "It’s also about having a little bit of doubt about what should and shouldn’t be a priority. Especially the fears of having all the fancy things—money, drugs, cars, jewelry, girls—and losing them."
