Holly Herndon And Jam City To Headline A “Festival Of Radical Imagination”
The forward-thinking electronic musicians will lead a line-up of thinkers and artists next week in Brighton, UK.
British seaside town Brighton used to play host to an annual conference on contemporary culture and ideas called Improving Reality; this year, the series has been revived as a two-day festival called The Long Progress Bar, and it's looking more enticing than ever.
The event, billed as a "festival of radical imagination," takes place over September 3 and 4, and will feature live music performances alongside talks, screenings and workshops. Experimental electronic artists Holly Herndon and Jam City lead the line-up, along with Berlin-based systematic producer TCF; future-facing design agency Metahaven; sound artist Mat Dryhurst, and theorist Benedict Singleton (whose work inspired the title of Herndon's last album, Platform).
Head to the Lighthouse website to see the full line-up and ticket information, and if you're feeling inspired, read up on the radical ideas that informed Herndon's Platform.
