Earlier this year, Glasses Malone recruited Kendrick Lamar for “Thuggin.’” The song opened with an intro courtesy of Tupac, and the laid back beat included hints of the soft guitar employed by Tupac on the classic “Thugz Mansion.” It wasn’t surprising to find Kendrick on the track—after all, Kendrick had an entire conversation with Tupac on To Pimp A Butterfly.

The latest version adds another fearsome rapper in the form of Killer Mike. His verse, compact and tightly structured, contrasts nicely with Malone’s growly interjections and Kendrick’s heady excursions.
