Kiiara Shares “Tennessee,” Another Low-Key Hit

Following her glimmering debut "Gold," hardware store clerk-turned-underground pop sensation Kiiara just dropped another new single on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show. It's called "Tennessee," and it's full of the tentative, quiet confidence of being the wallflower who watches carefully at the back of a crowd, alone with their drink and their thoughts. Asked what this song means to her, Kiiara simply told The FADER: "I walk into a room full of people I know and I just don't give a shit." Or, according to the opening line of "Tennessee," I'm a ghost when I walk in, holy spirit when I walk out. The lyrics find her musing on the world she's about to enter: chasing money got me feeling funny...all these pictures on the internet, burn 'em up like a cigarette.
