A$AP Rocky had a few surprises on his last album. Perhaps the most notable was the single “Everyday,” based around an interpolation of an early ‘70s song by Rod Stewart—not a name you expect to see associated with contemporary hip-hop. The MC and the aged rocker reconnected last night on The Late Late Show in the back seat of James Corden’s car. Rocky raps enthusiastically, Corden dances, and Stewart looks amused by the whole thing. At one point, he gives the rapper a nice pat on the head, like a proud grandfather.
Before Rocky joined Stewart and Corden in the vehicle, the two Englishmen discussed the most rock and roll moment of the singer’s career. “Just drinking and shagging and a-drinking and a-shagging,” Stewart said. “That’s what we did. And smashing up hotel rooms.”
