Soulection’s Da-P DabeatX Debuts Eccentric New Single, “Overdose”

With a little help from NY vocalist Midnight, Soulection producer Da-P dabeatX blesses us with "Overdose," the first track from his forthcoming EP, Sapphire. It's a smooth, eccentric clusterfuck of good vibes and spontaneous decision-making to inspire possibly the best night ever. This song marks the first time the Montreal native and video game enthusiast has worked with a vocalist, and he worked pretty closely with Midnight, reworking this song into what you can hear today. "I wanted to try a different vibe from what I usually do to hopefully show my evolution as a producer trying new things out like gathering a sound bank reminiscent of early video-games," Da-P told The FADER.

Fun fact: Da-P is bilingual! Read his quote in French, too: "Cette chanson est un remix d'une chanson de midnight appelé adonis. Quand il m’a envoyé l'acapella de la chanson j’ai immédiatement été inspirer. J’ai aussi voulu essayer un vibe un peu plus différent de ce que je fais normalement en espérant montrer mon évolution en tant que producteur musical. Les sons que j’ai utilisé dans cette chanson et tous les autres du ep sont inspirés de son de vieux jeu vidéo." Sapphire will be self-released on June 16th.
