Vic Mensa And Leather Corduroys Make A Potent Team On “Have U Eva”

Vic Mensa got a lot of attention in 2014 for "Down On My Luck," a fleet, sparkling dance track. But in 2015, he's going back to basics and focusing on tough, no-frills hip-hop—first in the form of his Kanye collaboration, "U Mad," and now with "Have U Eva," a new Leather Corduroys track featuring a Mensa guest verse. Producers Ikaz Boi and Myth Syzer inject a basic piano loop with vicious jolts of bass, and Mensa's lyrics fit the song's dark feel, as he contemplates death by car-crash and drug addiction.

Leather Corduroys, the duo of Joey Purp & KAMI, recently popped up on Towkio's .Wav Theory mixtape. They released a tape of their own, Season, earlier this year, which you can listen to here.
