Laura Clock Faces Up To Life Lessons On Dancehall-Echoing Single, “Fade”
The artist formerly known as Butterclock is back with a new groove.
Two years is a long time in music. But for Laura Clock, who used to collaborate with San Francisco producer oOoOO and make solo music as Butterclock, it was the space the Berlin-based singer/producer needed to evolve into herself. "Fade," the first dancehall-echoing single from her forthcoming debut EP under her own name, has a revelatory feel to it—it's almost a collection of lessons from we knew it from the start to never let you burn my heart. "l wrote this song as an empowering statement, trying to get over someone, or over something," Clock told The FADER. "Speaking to those who dance in the club 'til 8 in the morning to forget. But behind the upbeat shimmers lies darker truth." Rinse will release Laura Clock's EP, Baby - Part One, on June 15th.
