The New Nina Simone Documentary Looks Incredible

When you're able to score footage with Nina Simone's cavernous tenor, it's bound to feel epic. When the footage is actually about Simone and the consequences of her fame, multiply that by ten. That's part of the reason we're so drawn to the trailer for Netflix's poetically titled Nina Simone documentary, What Happened, Miss Simone? Set against the political turmoil of the racially torn '60s, the documentary pieces together testimonials from the singer's contemporaries and her daughter with interview snippets from Simone herself.
