Speedy Ortiz Trips Balls Around Allston In “The Graduates”
The band stars in the clip for one of Foil Deer’s best songs.

When I travelled to Boston to report a story about Speedy Ortiz, the band and I ate lunch at Allston Diner. The band told me that part of the music video for "The Graduates," an excellent track off their new full-length, was filmed inside the restaurant. After taking our order, the waitress said, "I keep finding googly eyes everywhere," and when we left the restaurant, I saw a single googly eye floating in a puddle of melted snow on the street. At the time, I was confused. Now that the video's out, I get it. Their new album, Foil Deer, was officially released today via Carpark.
