Tanlines Brillantly Hacked Their Website To Rip Off Netflix

They even have user recommendations—no kidding.

April 07, 2015

Brooklyn new-wave aesthetes Tanlines make sincere, heartfelt music—but it's clear that they're funny guys, too. Their Twitter account is a constant source of merriment, and the ahead-of-its-time 360-degree video for "Brothers" even featured the band's Jesse Cohen doing a little bit of stand-up comedy. This new piece of promo for their forthcoming LP Highlights might be their best joke yet, though: they've completely re-designed their website to reflect the streaming portal for Netflix. As you can see below, it is eerily accurate.

Head here to check it out—it features links to the singles so far from Highlights, the band's past videos and releases, links to check out Cohen's No Effects podcast, and even a few Easter eggs (such as a recommendation category "Movies And TV That You Might Not Have Realized Are About Jews"). Funny stuff.
