UPDATE 4/7/15 11:58 a.m.: DMX's lawyer, Murray Richman, has disputed the reports that DMX robbed a man at a Newark gas station to E!: "He was leaving a show, a very successful show, and he stopped for gas. Four young men approached him for a photo. They took photos and they offered [DMX] drugs. He said no and told them to go...They had an argument and next thing you know, they are accusing him of robbery. Just nonsense." He went on to refer to the allegations as "completely absurd" and that "anyone who believes it makes no sense at all."

NJ.com reports that DMX is involved in the "early stages" of an investigation that he and a member of his entourage allegedly robbed a man at a Newark gas station early Saturday morning. According to Newark police spokesperson Sgt. Ronald Glover, the victim claims that he approached DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, at a gas station to talk about rap with him and that "during the conversation a male in DMX's entourage, showed the victim a gun and demanded the victim's money." DMX allegedly "snatched the money out of his hand" before jumping in a car and driving away. Glover did not specify whether police had properly ID'd DMX as involved in the robbery, or whether they've reached out to contact him.
