Blur’s “There Are Too Many Of Us” Is Your New Anthem Of Overpopulation
Blur release their second single from The Magic Whip.
After 12 years of waiting, Blur will release their 8th studio album The Magic Whip next month. They shared their first single "Go Out" last month, and today they released their latest single "There Are Too Many of Us" where frontman Damon Albarn laments overpopulation. The new single sheds light to a calmer side of The Magic Whip; it's very characteristic of Blur, but not as beat-driven as some of their material. The melody stays relaxed throughout accompanied by a persistent yet calm drilling of: There are too many of us in tiny houses here and there.
The song's accompanied by a video showing a casual practice room setup with a sequence of slowly cycling borders of apartment complexes, 8-bit fruit emoticons, and slowly swirling frames mimicking the steady movements of the melody.
The Magic Whip will be released April 27th via Parlophone.
