Robin Thicke And Pharrell Williams Are Appealing The “Blurred Lines” Verdict
“We owe it to songwriters around the world to make sure this verdict doesn’t stand.”
A judge might have ruled in favor of the Marvin Gaye estate, slapping Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams with a $7.5 million fine for plagiarism over their hit "Blurred Lines," but the fight isn't over yet. Today Thicke and Williams' attorney Howard King told Fox Business Network that they'll be appealing the verdict. "We owe it to song writers around the world to make sure this verdict doesn't stand," said King. "My clients know that they wrote the song 'Blurred Lines' from their hearts and souls and no other source... We are going to exercise every post trial remedy we have to make sure this verdict does not stand. We look at it as being in the seventh inning of a game that could go into extra innings." King is hopeful that his clients won't have to pay any of the $7.4 million to the Gaye estate "if [he does] his job correctly." Watch King talk about the case above.
