Eli Escobar’s Remix Of Kim Ann Foxman’s “Open The House” Is Tough As Nails

House maestro Kim Ann Foxman is all set up in a Brooklyn firehouse, which explains why her label's called Firehouse. Pretty neat, right? The second release on Firehouse, FIREHOUSE002, drops on March 9 and features three fresh tunes from Foxman, along with two remixes of EP cut "Open the House" from Eli Escobar—including this rough-and-tough take, natch.

"For Firehouse 002, I knew that I wanted to have a remix this time," Foxman told FADER in an email. "Eli Escobar is a producer and DJ that I like a lot. I've been playing a bunch of his tracks and remixes out. He's a New York staple in the scene, and I really wanted him to be a part of the release. He surprised me by submitting two remixes for 'Open the House.' When I heard it, i texted him my feedback saying, 'OOOH! Sounds hot! Love the vibe, it sounds super New York-y!' He then wrote me back saying 'I think we should name the track "Eli's Super New Yorky Mix."' The second remix he did is Eli's DJ tool mix and that one is a jammer. Stripped back and really hot! This new release has 3 original tracks and 2 remixes. 'Open the House' is the A side—it's fun jacking party track; it's got a very 'inviting' vibe about it."
