Joining the trend of Captured Tracks-affiliated acts launching their own imprints, Perfect Pussy's Meredith Graves announced today that she's starting her own label called Honor Press. And despite the fact that she's working on a solo record and touring with her noise-punk crew, she's wasting no time in getting her first release out their, a full-length from the Sacramento-based post-hardcore band So Stressed.
The Unlawful Trade of Greco-Roman Art will be released May 26, but they've already shared the roiling lead single "Merv King & the Phantoms," a minute-and-a-half rush of gleefully disparate rhythms and barked vocals. It doesn't feel like the result of mere dabblers, but the band joked in a press release that if no one wanted to release the album they "were just going to delete it." So listen below, and thank Graves' new enterprise for saving the whole record from being canned.
