Dr. Martens Champions Stylish Weirdos In New Campaign
Repping for the eccentrics for decades.
For decades Dr. Martens has appealed to punks: whether it's uniformed punks in the traditional sense, or just headstrong creatives with the tendency to live against the grain. Fittingly, the brand's spokespersons have always been equal parts eyebrow-raising and innately stylish. In early 2014, they let Ghe20 G0th1k founder Venus X flip the bird in their spring lookbook, and last fall they mined the strict style codes of early Skinheads for their marquee "Spirit of 69" collection. For this year's campaign, Dr. Martens has once again rounded up some of those real-life style eccentrics—artists, photographers, DJs, and legendary punk Jimmy Webb of Trash and Vaudeville—instead of run-of-the-mill models to show off the bold prints and brand new silhouettes that are on deck for spring. To get a peak into this season's sassy cast, peep their "Stand For Something" video lookbook above and check out exclusive photos of the Dr. Martens collection below.
