Where I come from people don't make it, so I come right back at them with some Bay shit—Oakland's Bobby Brackins' 2014 sleeper "Hot Box" gets a second life and an extra infusion of Bay Area pride with this new remix, which features verses from HBK principle IamSu! and the legendary Too $hort, as well as the original's swaggering Mila J hook and snappy Redwine production. "I've been saving that verse from Too $hort for a long time," Brackins tells FADER. "The West Coast is poppin' right now, and it feels good to have me and Su represent the young Bay Area generation and have the iconic legend Too $hort on my remix. It's great to see that this song has such a long shelf life."
