Girl Unit’s Hysterics Project Delivers The Perfect Post-Club Track

“Empty” is taken from the Night Slugs producer’s forthcoming Hysterics EP.

London producer Girl Unit's side project Hysterics will follow up on the promise of his 2013 Club Constructions 12-inch with a self-titled EP on Night Slugs this February 3rd. "Empty" is the record's peace-out moment, pulling together a spare yet effective set of elements that resonate like flashbacks from the dancefloor. It crackles and vibrates as it completes its cyclic rumble, as if to say, life goes on.

"'Empty' was the first track that really gave me a feeling of relief from the more club focused material I was working on for this EP," Hysterics told The FADER over email. "I just wanted the track to have this feeling of submersion—when all the percussion drops out around the one-minute mark I want to be able to bathe in the sound, but still maintain the groove throughout. It's that kind of post-club therapy when you're driving home with your ears still ringing."
