As we reported last week, Rick Fumuyiwa's A$AP Rocky-starring Dope premiered at Sundance this past week, and Billboard reports that the film built enough buzz to start an all-night bidding war for the rights. Film studios Open Road and The Weinstein Company are said to be warring over ownership, and it's reported that the deal might be worth $7 million, which if true could end up being one of the biggest deals struck at Sundance this year.
As reported, Rocky was present at Sundance briefly but didn't stay for long, speaking for the first time on the passing of A$AP Yams while he was there. Read what he had to say here.
