Rick Owens Sends Peek-A-Boo Penises Out On The Runway

Straight up: Rick Owens knows how to put on a show. From 40 steppers stomping the runway, to trundling out models painted ashen white in view of the Eiffel Tower, the designer almost never fails to infuse his avant-garde cuts and somber palette with a little showmanship. It seems like he couldn't resist that impulse this go around, either: for his Spring presentation—called "Defile"—at Parisian modern art museum Palais de Tokyo, Owens sent his models out with sly holes and flaps that gave those in the first two rows a really intimate glimpse of both the collection and its models. The official images of the collection have been scrubbed pretty clean—there's just a peek of genitalia in a couple of the shots—but there's no denying that for those in the front row, this was a show to remember. While GQ claims Owens' motives are ambiguous, writing, "Unclear if this was a dick-slip or a purposeful dick pic"—we'd like to definitively put our vote down in the "purposeful dick pic" category. Rick Owens loves a good spectacle.
