R&B singer Sevyn Streeter already showed us the things she carries late last year, and now she's back to premiere her new single "Don't Kill the Fun," a freestyle-influenced jam featuring Chris Brown that sounds brushed with street-ready R&B as much as it does the sounds of the clubby 1990s dance scene. "I feel like I finally figured out who the hell I am," Sevyn told FADER during a recent visit to our offices. "In terms of my music, dating, my style, bleaching my hair ice blue. 'Don't Kill the Fun' is the perfect umbrella for everything in my life right now. I had a really good time creating this song, which is a fuse of '90s house music and today's trappier, ratchet-y drums. I liked fusing the two and didn't want to take it too seriously."
"We take too many things too seriously," she continued. "We get frustrated with our jobs sometimes, but there's somebody preying for our jobs, so let's just enjoy them and have a good time." Check out the song above, and the cover art below; "Don't Kill the Fun" drops on January 13 and will be available for download that day.
