UPDATE 12/5 5:17 p.m.: The Associated Press is reporting that Sigel is awake after surgery.
UPDATE 12/5 1:38 p.m.: NBC Philadelphia is now reporting that Sigel was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being shot in the back; his attorney says it appears that Sigel wasn't the intended victim.
NBC Philadelphia is reporting that Beanie Sigel was shot this morning in an altercation along the 800 block of Spruce Avenue in Pleasantville, New Jersey. The site also reports that Sigel is currently in surgery following the shooting. We'll update this story if more info comes in.
