Listen To The Transgressive And Bubbly “Real Cool” By salute
Australia meets UK on this off-center, flaunting track: “We’re a little different/ But I like that /I think it’s real cool.”
There's something really nicely transgressive about the frankness and bubbliness with which Australian artist Vanessa Elisha sings, You're kinda serious/ And I'm a little strange/ We're a little different/ But I like that/ I think it's real cool, on "Real Cool", a collaboration between her and the UK-based producer salute (all lower case, apparently, and pictured above) off his forthcoming Silver Tides EP on his own imprint Dime Club, which we're premiering today. She sets the mood in this nice off-center kind of flaunt, and when the beat drops out for a second and then flares up just as quickly for the chorus, everything just fits into place perfectly.
All I can think about is the heartwarming climax of "Old Man Smokes Weed for the First Time," and once you hit play on this track you're probably going to feel a lot like that guy in the video. salute told The FADER a little about where he's at with this track: "I had so much fun working on this EP—it feels like a huge stepping stone to me. I feel like I've grown a lot since my last release, both as a musician and as a person. Silver Tides should give people a taste of what I want to do next, as I'm planning to do live shows in the new year and continue to push my sound with amazing new producers, musicians and vocalists. Huge thanks to Vanessa Elisha for the stunning work on 'Real Cool' too." Check it out below.
