Watch Kanye West’s Performance At The World AIDS Day Concert In Times Square
Tune in 7:30 p.m. EST for Kanye, Carrie Underwood, and U2 Minus 1 but plus Bruce Springsteen.
Busy tonight? At 7:30 p.m. EST Kanye West will be performing alongside Carrie Underwood and headliners U2 (or at least some of them) live in Times Square for Bank of America's not-so-surprise World AIDS Day concert. Of course Bono is still recuperating after his bike accident, but Bruce Springsteen and Chris Martin have graciously volunteered to take turns filling in as frontman—so there's that, too. 'Ye probably won't be debuting his new album or restaging Yeezus or anything, but it sounds like it will be a pretty big deal nonetheless. Those interested in attending are instructed to enter Times Square via 50th St and Broadway; for everybody else, it will be livestreaming here (and above).
Update 12/2/14 9:30 a.m.: Through the rain, Kanye performed a 10-minute medley of the most politically charged ("Jesus Walks," "Black Skinhead") and crowd pleasing ("Power," "Stronger") cuts. At about 6:45, his DJ lets the "Stronger" instrumental run a bit too long and 'Ye has to remind him to cut the track; otherwise, it's great. Check it out below.
