Watch The Jodorowsky-Tastic Video For FaltyDL’s Remix Of Luke Vibert’s “Stabs Of Regret”
Trippy visuals for this hyperspeed remix.
Luke Vibert's "Stabs of Regret," from his recent album Ridmik, is a typically acid-infused cut from the UK electronic veteran, a low-slung tune that's received quite the hyperspeed remix from NYC whiz kid Andrew Lustman, aka FaltyDL. Lustman's take, a distinctly jungle-leaning remix that serves as a detour from his latest solo LP as FaltyDL, this year's In the Wild, is accompanied by visuals that lean on footage from gonzo-genius filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky's 1973 opus The Holy Mountain.
"Luke has obviously had a massive influence on me over the years," Lustman said in an email to FADER. "We became friends in around 09/10. I've been lucky enough to go record shopping with him which is a similar experience to watching the show Supermarket Sweep. 'Take this, you need this, oh this ones good, def grab this... etc' till i leave with 50 hardcore rave records. I digress... With this remix i wanted to use the stab progression he built and rebuild the drums. I'm lucky it worked out, remixing your friend is often a shifty situation. Approval on delivery!"
Vibert's EP that this remix is featured on, Halloween (Part 2), drops December 8 via Hypercolour.
