Next month Tunji Ige, a college sophomore who's been making major label-ready music in his dorm room, will release the full-length album he's been quietly gearing up for with drops like "Slow Dance" and "The Ex Song." Titled The Love Project, the album has a tentative December 3 release date. It was produced, mixed, and mastered by Ige himself, and will feature guest appearances from Wonda and Lontalius.
To celebrate, today's Ige has unleashed a new track called "Song of the Night." It's the B-side to an unreleased track called "Trust Fund Chick," and it is–sonically and otherwise–reminiscent of Frank Oceans "Pyramids," except starring a co-ed. "It's anti-hero's anthem of sorts," he told FADER via e-mail. "I really tried to build a soundscape that captured feelings of rejection and teenage angst but in a way that felt grandiose and massive. It's definitely an important piece of the puzzle."
