Watch Gorgon City And Jennifer Hudson’s Diva-tastic Video For “Go All Night”
The pairing jack for days in a very enjoyable-looking party setting.
UK house duo Gorgon City's recently released debut LP Sirens contains quite a few jacking tunes that both recall the dance sub-genre's shouty past and the currently in-vogue pop-focused sounds of the present—not least of which is the bursting "Go All Night," featuring vocals from the one and only Jennifer Hudson. Suitably, the Roboshobo-directed video for the single (which sees release on December 15 via Black Butter/Virgin EMI) possesses a party-hardy vibe with plenty of vogueing to spare, switching between hi-def and retrofitted-VHS-style footage.
"This video is such a throwback to where it all began for me," Hudson says over e-mail. "I was so in my element during production that I kept forgetting we were filming because it took me back to the days when I would dress up and perform at the gay clubs in Chicago. This song has that 90's feel, but the guys of Gorgon City really made it more relevant than ever. It reminded me of Whitney, with that feel good beat that made you want to get up and throw your arms out. That was one of the things that drew me in right away—that feeling will never go out of style." "We're really proud of the track and we love the video," Gorgon City says. "We had an amazing time filming it, it's the first video we've been in—and because it's a party scene we were up for it! Jennifer is an amazing talent and working with her has been an honour."
