On "Townie," the second single from Bury Me At Make Out Creek, Mitksi sings the line I want a love that falls as fast as a body from the balcony. On the next track, the recent SUNY Purchase graduate and Brooklyn resident seems to have found it: One word from you and I would jump from this ledge I'm on, baby. The entire record is full of that kind of standing-on-a-cliff vulnerability, manifesting in shades of rough-hewn folk and discordant indie pop. It's streamlined by Mitski's radiant voice, which sounds about halfway between Jennifer Castle and Dee Dee Ramone. Bury Me At Make Out Creek is officially out November 11th via Double Double Whammy.
